The choir was established in January 2008, following the appointment of Sam Adams as Organist. We currently have a good number of boys and girls producing an ever improving top line. Following a six month probationary period and a structured plan of training, the choir have progressed enough to now warrant the addition of alto, tenor and bass voices.
At present we are actively recruiting men. If you are interested or know anyone who may be interested, please contact the choirmaster for more information, or view the recruitment leaflet and application form. We also accept any new junior members with reasonable reading ability from the age of 7 (school year 3). Please contact the choirmaster for more information.
We meet one evening a week for rehearsal, and also for the Sunday morning service. We sing choral evensong and other special services from time to time.
This is an exciting time in the church’s worship, and a great opportunity for any men who wish to join at present.
The organ is a digital instrument, but has been voiced particularly well. Manufactured by the Allen Organ Company, the 2 manual instrument was installed in 1993 and homes 30 stops.
The Allen replaced what was originally a pipe organ - some of the pipes of which still remain.
If you would like to know more about the organ or would like organ lessons, please contact the organist and choirmaster Sam Adams at sam@holycrosshornchurch.co.uk
